17.21.21 this piece of lichen has to be newly decorated
where shall i put it ? here ? or here ? or better here ?
Image

17.30.12-15 a cuckoo is singing in the forest, not too close
17.34.07 a woodpecker is "knocking", Kaia has heard him
17.38.26 another bird is singing nicely, unfortunately i don't know what species

Every now and then Kaia has her beak open, closes her eyes, seems wanting to snooze a little. But she is so attentive, she reacts almost to every single bird call.

Because Kaia was gone for so long, the neck looks very narrow, doesn't it?
I very much hope there is enough food.

There is any strange noise in or around the nest.
I don't know if they're from Kaia?

17.40.00 it must still be warm, Kaia with open beak and panting a little, tries snoozing again
Image

17.42.05 Kaia got up, preened a bit on her belly, scratched her head
Image

17.43.04 she does a very healthy big PS right in front of the cam.
No worries, Kaia, i will not show it, i'm discreet :D

Sabsy, Kaia must have eaten well

17.44 she aerated the nest bowl, picked here and there at the moss, then

17.44.40 she carefully rolled the eggs, while the cuckoo was again singing from far out of the forest
Image

17.45 Kaia settled down on the eggs again

EDIT: Anne, exactly, the Royal Family could sue me  :D

You are absolutely right, Balistar... Never post a picture of a pooping princess!
That could cause problems...

17:44 scratching again. Small annoying visitors?

I think her beak is peeling.

It looks like Kaia had a tiring day.

19:14 Oh yes, Kaia is very tired.
Perhaps she was exploring today, like Karl II a few days ago. @Anne7

That's possible.
She should also know where to find food in the wide area... just in case.

20.24 The Kaya has white stripes on both sides of its beak. Apparently, she filtered the water along with the clay ...(Traces from the nasal slits, of course :innocent: ).

Hi :hi:

Thanks for all the posts and comments!
I was away and what do I see? Again, troubles with Kaia... :faint:

I have just decided that I will no longer add hopeful images here, because we will never know what the next day will bring. However, most importantly, she finally arrived...

The little princess is playing with our nerves!
She is currently resting peacefully in the nest. We'll see how Karl II "takes revenge on her" and when he arrives at the nest tomorrow.

The weather in Estonia was very nice and warm, not hot, but pleasant. I thought about what a nice rhythm our couple has ... and that everything is so good. But I was wrong
Forgive my pessimistic entry.

Hello @Heloise
There are no guarantees in nature. There are good things and there are bad things that cannot be foreseen. That's why we particularly enjoy the good moments and capture them here.
I already wrote last year: when I think Kaia has found a rhythm, the opposite always happens.
That was the case this year too.

I'm glad Kaia is here and nothing bad happened.

I'll write the summary anyway.

Times of absence today:
Karl II was in the nest from 16:50 yesterday until 17:00 today.
17:00 Kaia arrives, Karl II leaves
Kaia is in the nest overnight.

Karl II can strengthen himself and rest.

edit: Kaia is really frozen. She is very exhausted. Who knows what she experienced!

Good evening Heloise,

please think about it, we all want the same thing and are happy with all positive incidents.
And if things turn out differently, we are all here again together.
Then it's still early enough to be sad.
Even if I am relatively new to the forum, I read most of them for many years
and I would not like to give up your pictures and joy.
We shouldn't suppress our positive feelings,
or refrain from just because something might happen at some point.
Then we live atypically and also unhappy.
I put it this way, let's laugh when there is something to laugh about
and when we are sad - we are together.
Everything is always right as long as you act for your own benefit and that of others.
All the best and good night Sabsy
