OrniTrack information

Battery level: 86%
Flown distance: 130 km

Karl II spent the night in a little forest, close to a brook, at about 6 km from the nest.

His working day started at 04:52.
He went fishing in that brook until 05:57
Next he flew to the brook where Urmas has put the fish basket, at about 10 km from the nest.
I suspect that unfortunately the cage was empty this early morning, because Karl II continued to look for food along that brook, but not in one fixed spot.
He was in that area until 07:17.
Then he flew to another brook at about 11 km from the nest.
There he searched for food until 08:22.
Next he flew to a small river which flows into (or out of) a lake, about 18 km from the nest. There he was fishing until 09:47.
At 10:02 he was on his way to the nest, speed 57 km/h
At 10:24 he is on the nest.

At 10:34 he flies (zigzagging) towards an area with several lakes, and looks for food in a brook connecting 2 lakes, at about 24 km from the nest. He was there between 11:50 and 12:12.
Next he flies to a brook even further away, at about 28.5 km from the nest.
He fished there between 12:42 and 13:35.
At 13:42 he hurries to the nest (top speed = 74 km/h)
At 14:18 he is on the nest

At 14:27 he flies to the brook where he spent the night, at about 6 km from the nest.
He is fishing there between 14:37 and 17:47.
At 17:52 he flies towards the nest.
At 18:00 he is on the nest.

At 18:07 he flies again to the brook where he spent the night, at about 6 km from the nest.
I see him fishing for his own dinner until 20:57.
Then he goes to sleep at the same location as last night.

Karl II works really extremely hard.
Nevertheless, the food brought on the nest is not abundant. :faint:
How lucky that Kaia is still here (for the time being).

It would be good if our storklets were well fed for another 14 days (or more) on the nest. But whether that will be possible?

Sleep well, everyone!
Thanks a lot for all wonderful contributions.

 :offtobed:

06:56 Pikne takes off and flies a round in the forest.
The landing is then unfortunate. Pikne flies on without landing.

06:57 Udu flies away too.

It took time. Karl II kept his beak closed until the last moment.

It can be seen here that they almost pierced Karl II´s beak

They were hungry and greedy. They seem to be grabbing food right inside Karl II's beak...

Karl II tries again.

Hello everyone :hi:

Thanks a lot Swenja and Heloise

Today Udu and Pikne are 70 days old. Tuul 68.

Things got pretty rough on the nest during this feeding by Karl II.

At one point Udu was almost 'pushed' out of the nest. S/he had to stand up to avoid falling.
I think his/her beak was pinched in father's beak for quite a while.
Image

And Tuul's head got stuck in Karl II's beak for a moment too.
A lot of chaos in the background as well.
Image

Oops! Tuul... And where is Pikne in this picture?
