I think it is a lesser spotted eagle (Aquila pomarina).

Good you said it, was my second thought. I cant differentiate between the two species. What the difference

This shows we should look at this cam a little more often. The nest is getting some use, which is very nice -- even if it is NOT exactly the sort intended.

Both guests were buzzards I´d say. Very nice that something is happening again!
Of course I missed them...

I don't know, why audio is so low - some spider is nesting in microphone hole maybe...

July 3rd; just checked in to watch the grass grow in the empty bird's nest. Just think, less than 6 months now till the 'pig camera' comes back (I hope)...SelbyLowndes

I got 2 pictures about our Padis. Those pictures are done 20 km from the Padis nest. Kotkaklubi is busy with catching BS, for put on them transmitters. On the trap place are cams and those pictures are from those cams.
Catching BS is not an easy job. Kotkaklubi members were guarding at the trap for last two days, but they only could see the storks. During this time not one stork came to eat the fish from trap.They fly by and 2 of them were arguing behind our guys back(about 100m from them).Guys could not move themselves, so they didn`t see the storks.
But the voices they did, were just like these, storks do at the nest,while nodding and calling(schrieking). It is possible that the other stork at the trap was Toomas.

I wonder if those Black Storks can tell that the trap is an artifical construction, and know it is a trap?

I read about someone trying to trap sea gulls, by baiting a line hung from a pole.
The gulls could see that it was a trap, and didn't come near it.
Too many straight lines, maybe?

No, I didn't read it.
It was one of those "Survival" programs on TV. A survival "expert" had been taken to an island and left to fend for himself for a week. One of his attempts to get food was this sea-gull trap, which didn't work. The straight line of the line holding the bait was too obviously artificial and the gulls didn't go near it.

As you can see storks are not afraid this trap if there is nobody...They don`t come eat if there is anybody...
