A stork takes a lot of time, but they know their value!

Trapping place is located on stream in forest.

So much for my "Too many straight lines" theory. That picture tells it!

Stright lines theory is up to date, actually!
As you see on images there are avoided stright lines, as much as possible. BSs visit also the fish ponds, where they get familiar with these dangerous straight lines.
In places of traps we use first some fir branch instead of net, etc...
If there were nesting (feeding chicks) storks, they are easier to trap - but storks like Padis, they don't need so much food and can choose the best one pieces.

I am sure I have heard a Black Stork call on the LSE webcam. 11.59.

Remember how we jump up at the sound and our brains tell us "Padis - Donna"
That just happened to me!
I was in another room and thought I had left the webcam on the BS nest, but no, I see Spot alone!

I could be mistaken. Did anyone else hear it?

Aha, Padis and Toomas keep together! They don't fight anymore like it was last year.

Urmas and Mutikluti, you said the storks would not dare to go to the trap if somebody was in the hide. How do they know that you are there? Do they see you in there? Or what is the reason for their behaviour? And how far the old/new location of the hide is away from the trap?

I have never been there, I pick up only news about my favourite birds... but I think that you must ask this question from storks.... If Urmas knows the answer then is for him easy to catch them....
My logic says that Urmas must be so close to trap that he can to block this trap if stork comes.

All was OK, up to unlucky situation, if one of our team, leaving the hide was noticed by stork...

Distance was about 30m, but now about 70m.
There is no wires between hide and trap - releasing happens via remote control (based on car central lock).

If Padis and Toomas fly there together it will be harder to catch them.

4:27, Empty nest, there seem to be green grass growing in the nest. Please, come one lonely stork and pick the grass off!

Grass looks much nicer than plastic bags!
