Too much fish for a single one
Pikne is more than full.
One fish remained. And I don't know if Pikne can now fly with this load of fish. :puzzled:

Good morning, Swenja. :hi:
It's nice to read and see your videos and photos. You'll never miss anything... I don't want to bother you.

Yes, Pikna is well now - he is full, he is comfortable and safe in the nest... Knowing his voracity, I am not surprised that he managed to hide all the fish in his backpack. Here and now-where can he fly away from the fish? This is his anchor...

The fish, by the way, is the freshest. At 07.58, when he tried to eat it, he was still opening his fins..

I'm with you, Swenja. I am always happy to read your notes.

Hello and Thank you @ Tatiana60

Pikne hardly moves. It was really a lot of fish. I am amazed that there was only one fish left.
It was a very large portion of fish.

It was at least twice as much and the fish were a good size.

Good morning! :hi:
Thank you so much, Swenja!

The weather is quiet and warm here. Thunderstorms and rain are allowed from the afternoon, thunderstorms possible at 2:45pm...

I mean, Pikne could practice fishing... how long will s/he stay in the nest? Nice to see him/her, but what are his/her survival skills? Tuul and Udu must be already practicing...

Hello @Heloise

The young storks must be ready to leave the nest for good. Pikne is not ready for it yet.
I can't think of any reason why Pikne shouldn't fish himself.
Actually, Pikne developed so quickly and could do many things just as quickly as Udu.
But now Pikne hesitates to fly away.

Yes... we'll see when s/he's ready ... it's nice to see him/her, but a little sad too.

And I already miss Tuul and Udu!

Pikne and fish 8-)

Maybe Pikne wants to fly away, but s/he doesn't want to leave the fish 8-)
Of course, his/her crop is still too full, s/he needs to rest
Or s/he's waiting: Udu and Tuul, come on, there's a fish for you here! (It is rather unlikely)

It is said in Estonian: seisab nagu soolasammas: it stands like a pillar of salt...

(My little thoughts)

I think Pikne is sleeping now...

Hello everyone

Swenja, Heloise, Tatiana :hi:
Many thanks!

I'm glad that Pikne got so much food this morning... and is meanwhile able to fly again. :D

A little 'portrait' of Karl II and Pikne

Hello, Anne7, thank you

13:08:52 Pikne is back
S/he is so heavy that s/he can't fly into the nest right away, s/he has to climb into the nest
(on the right, little Pikne)
(Very small Pikne flies, behind the curved branch in the lower right corner, look and find!)

First s/he takes the fish, puts it on the nest rim and "kills" it repeatedly 8-)
