Great pictures, as always  .
Today I saw a lot of White storks in my area, but I was on the way to work and I didn't have a cam with me  .

AquHeli, I´ve said this already many times :D , but again: Thank you! Amazing photos. :loveshower:

Btw, is there some international data base of the ringing numbers? If there is, is it open to all public or only for ringers/ ornithologists? :puzzled:

WOW - AquHeli, what wonderful photos of gorgeous birds .... I´m down on my knees .... thank you for showing us :loveshower:

And storks with rings!!!

Starling, I´m curious, too .... about the database with ring numbers ....

And the video is great, too!!!

Edit:
Just had a look at the blog from Carsten Rohde, it is not updated yet - but I guess it won´t last long until he travels to Israel again ...

I have informed Leonia about those wonderful photos, she is in contact with Carsten Rohde and sends him the ring numbers before he leaves for Israel this weekend. If we are lucky we hear something, otherwise we have to wait until he comes back.
There is no searchable database about ring numbers I know of, findings are usually sent to the country ringing center where the bird was found or seen, in Germany there are 3, but I just found one address for all regions for sending ring data of birds found in Germany: http://www.proring.de/ber-bz.html

Edit: I have found an overview of contact addresses: http://www.euring.org/national_schemes/ ... chemes.htm

Another piece of information about Black Storks from Germany. In today's issue of newspaper "Die Welt" is an article, saying in German federal state Thüringen (Thuringia) live more Black Storks than White Storks!

Today I checked Carsten Rohdes blog:

http://blackstorknotes.blogspot.de/

and it seems that he won´t post ring datas continuously this season .... when I understood right he has not much time to identify the ringed birds because he needs all the time to free storks that are captured in the nets over the fishponds and the situation is bad
