I think, this species is not often in this region, isn't it? Not to speak of western europe ... 8-)
Lucky Estonia!

Thanks a lot, Dagi, for catching this precious moment, and Bea, for giving us the video! I will save it.

Ural Owl is a most numerous Owl species in Estonia, 1500-2500 breeding pairs.

Arrived at 19:59 and stayed almost 3 minutes. On Neli's branch, hopped into the nest and then went to Tiit's branch and left.

Obviously I haven't watched the map with the distribution area properly. Now I see it. It’s really a big number of these species in Estonia. I haven’t seen them ever before. A very impressive Owl!
Thank you, Vainamoinen, and thank you, Looduskalender! :2thumbsup:

Gonia, unfortunately I can´t open your link - maybe your photo album is not public?

Beautiful owl, indeed! :loveshower:
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

In Estonia you can never be sure if the nest is going to be owned by the bird one expects. "Musical nests" was invented here ... :rotf:
