Re: Black Stork Nest in Karula - 2016
Thanks to all, who have made it possible, to observe this camera and documented here.Hellem, Birdfriend, Lussi, Olga and Lucy thanks for the good work here. I need only read and watch videos and pictures
it was great to see how the Storklets have grown
I was happy, that this nest was still here, after the big storm. Kalli and Kulla warenn here and all was well.
Special thanks to Bea and Aita. they documented and watch also, if it becomes difficult.
When the parents did not come for two days, I was happy to see the videos from feedings.
Both are professional enough to document such things.
to Urmas also many thanks for explanations about the behavior of black storks.
So I was not worried about Katis absence.
I hope, that Karl come to the nest and say good bye to us.
we see us in the next stork season by our Storks. hopefully

Hello all friends of this black stork family!
I would like to write many thanks, but in this moment - everything what I would like to say was told by quicker of you... Especially Lussi05, Birdfriend, Liz01...
From me, it would be just repeating. So just in short again, I thank all of you for interesting and in addition often witty photos and videos, interesting information about storks, and last but not least for opportunity to observe this nest and to use this forum!
To our nice black stork family - Karl, Kati and to two strong healthy storklets - Kulla and Kalli I wish to them happy journey to the Africa and happy return in the next spring! Always good wind into their wings, enough food and water and beware of all dangers during the long way!
We observed great parents, and I am looking forward to meet with Karl and Kati in spring (and with Kulla and Kalli by reading of rings by someone who will see them).

PS: I would like to ask about photos (or video?) from ringing (when the camera was off) - I am not sure, that the photos was here or I missed it... I was out of forum (and of cam) some days later, so I forgot for it Thanks in advance for the answer.

What a strange feeling to see so (unnaturally) empty nest ...
I am very happy that Kati and Karl managed to raise two beautiful, well-nourished and healthy young storks, and that Kulla and Kalli were able to start their first difficult journey.
But on the other hand, I feel a slight sadness that watching their further fate is no longer possible.
With all my heart I wish our whole Black Stork Family a successful journey south, abundant fisheries, a safe stay on the wintering grounds, and a happy return to the homeland next year.
Huge thanks and compliments to all who contributed to carrying out this wonderful project called "Black Stork Nest in Karula."
Thanks also to all the participants of this forum, admins and moderators included, tirelessly documenting, reporting, and explaining the subsequent events in the nest. It was a great pleasure to be here with you.

Dear black stork friends all over the world,
It has been a special summer for me and for Estonian Fund for Nature and I would like to thank all of you for your support. Special thanks to Urmas and all the Kotkaklubi team who helped to make this project happen. Despite some sad moments and some moments when we had a total black out and nobody really knew what is happening in the nest we can say that it has been one happy and educating season.
Now when all the black storks have left the nest the real job starts. During next few months we are going to organise at least seven conservation camps where we are going to clean with volunteers some forest streams so that during next seasons there could be even more fish and better opportunities to raise strong and healthy young storks. At least three of the camps will be organized around Karula area where our stork family was living. I hope that some of you can join the camps and if not then you can always supports our efforts by donating to Estonian Fund for Nature. All the information about the black stork conservation camps will be soon found on http://www.talgud.ee web page (in Estonian).
Love and Peace
Jaanus

I opened the cam, and SURPRISE!
Kalli is on the nest!
I guess that trying to find her own food wasn't a big success, and now she's tired...
A good rest will do miracles, I hope!
