E-mail from Urmas about the black stork chicks. He sent details of measurements and some photographs which Mutikluti will post.

But measures of ringed chicks:

715L + A16311 (alum. ring)
wing length 370 mm
bill length 106
weight 2940 g

709H + A16312
wing length 385 mm
bill length 106
weight 2820 g

well fed, without of visible parasites (incl. leaches in throat). One of
adults flew around during our visit. We were together with Ain (he
helped also install the cam).

Transmission was broken because of thunder hitting to the mobile tower,
power adapter of antenna was burnt inside the device... and is replaced
by now.


Urmas also wrote that they intended to trap adults to fit transmitters, but that will have to be delayed for a week.
He is off to Russia now to ring some ospreys!
