It still is clear who is the third hatched chick.
It is still a little bit smaller and has also more white down feathers (less new black feathers).
Maybe the fact that it has spent less time inside the egg is contributing to this visible difference?
Two days less compared to number two.
(Like a human baby that is born 2 weeks early will weigh less?)
It is catching up very well, but it is still visible who's the youngest.
Let us wait until Urmas has measured and weighed them.
Then we will know, if there is a big difference between the siblings.

Liz, I probably have missed something in the conversation.
Did someone say that there is a big difference between the siblings?
I meant to say that, even though number 2 and 3 hatched on the same day, it would be erroneous to consider them as "twins". It was at first very well (but now every day a little less) visible who is the youngest.
The most visible difference at the moment is the difference in the development of the plumage.
As Swenja said:
Meanwhile, there is hardly a size difference. The feather growth shows it*. (* who is the youngest storklet)
I always have to look twice to see "who is who".
And even that is not always enough to get the answer.

Hi, asteria
I think they always want more!
I think it was a very good feeding. A lot of food.
20:44:33 Oh my, poor Karl.
All three chicks were eagerly grabbing the fish directly out of his beak.

Your picture tells enough. They will sleep well.
Good night, everyone!

Good morn, who will like to explain for what birds must be measured and weighed,

These are statistical values that are always recorded for research purposes if professionals want to disturb them now.
Comparison values with other years, other locations, gender-specific... .
Even injured animals of other species or humans are recorded statistically.
And if Eike asks, of course, to research climate change ...
other species:
Research under veterinary supervision
When finally a fairly mature pig is trapped - "an old boar would never fall into the trap," says Stillfried -, a veterinarian must be on hand to stun. Then it is measured, weighed and released after a health check by Kotprobe the coated pig.
Twelve copies have so far been on the road for research "on the information superhighway", two are currently up to date. Milena Stillfried shows satellite images in which yellow lines in wild zigzag connect forests and residential areas: movement profiles. An animal near Potsdam was only very scattered and then suddenly moved away in the direction of Fahrland. "That was after a hunt," says Stillfried. Another picture shows how the zig-zag lines of Grunewald lead through the streets of Dahlem: the movement profile of a one-week brook. What you do not see are the supposedly unpleasant marks your pack might have left in search of flower bulbs and nutritious garden waste.
