Re: Black Stork Nest in Karula 2019
If you go back in rewind you can see:
08:07:09 a rotten branch is falling on the right, which startled them.
I think that was the prelude/the occasion to the excitement of the storklets.
Understandable, considering what they had to go through yesterday.

I must say that I am disappointed that we dont get information what happened to the third chick. That nobody took a look. I felt and still feel so helpless...

JoJo UK wrote: ↑June 20th, 2019, 11:58 pm Another thought about names - when we open the new Names topic ( in 2 - 3 days or so) shall we try to keep to the "K" initial for names, or shall we branch out into a different part of the alphabet? IF so, which one?
It would be good to keep to the "K" motif - Karula, Kati, Karl, Karl II, etc.
Maybe try to stay with K. The selection of names starting with K is pretty diverse in estonian.

Would defenetly also love to hear that someone had time to go and see what happened to the fallen chick. At what age they usually get ringed?

Complement to the discussion of yesterday evening:
There are worlds between a wild animal and a pet born of a millennial selection and breeding, not only because domestic animals are often selected for their socialization ability. So I wouldn't compare their behaviour. Animals socialize for their benefit and when it is helpful for survival. But when life is reduced to its pure basics they care for their own (even social living species keep their food for their own or their offspring). And the basics for a wild animal to survive in the day by day struggle of life is to have enough food and a place to rest.
I have not said that they were stupid or callous, but their main focus is survival. And besides all, mankind isn't so much different under pressure and similar circumstances, when all comfort and civilization is ruined.
But I think we should move a discussion on that to another topic.

Hej, all !
Is it normally that parents do not protekt their kids? I dont believe that the parents dont know about dangers to their storklets.
Sad.
The GH will eat the storklet on the ground ans will keep on with attacks to the alives.
