That is the risk you take, if you always keep your head directly under father's beak.

Here, O is still eating from A's head/neck. :D

A found little things on the nest floor.

Karl II didn't bring a lot of food, this time, did he?

They must be tired after the adventurous day. Penny for their dreams.
I'm happy Kati is till here and also takes care of the kids. She marked the nest in vain - the season still goes on. :innocent:

Hello everyone

What a day! I’m glad that also 716A has made his/her maiden flight and that he returned safely to the nest.
Thank you very much, dear all, for the interesting videos and all the nice pictures and reports of this exciting day! Especially interesting is the video of Kati's stay on the nest from 11:28. How attentively she looked around and listened to the sounds the storklets have made. But I wonder why she didn't fly down to the storklets earlier.

I've some pictures of the later evening. The storklets are so interesting in their behaviour. The playful storklet 716A is always to recognize, - even if one can't see the storklets rings. :D

21:24:16 Both are surely tired after todays exciting flights.
Image

21:27:35 But of course 716A is the first who got up again. :) What a beautiful view!

21:27:41 It looks like 716A enjoys to spread his wings, - which he now can use for flying. :D
Image

21:27:45 He just stands there with his wings spread out.

21:27:46 How wonderful!

21:49:03 Storklet 716O was obviously tired again and settled down. Of course 716A didn't forget to preen its sibling a bit. ;-)
Image

21:50:49 716A settled down very close to its brother or sister, - as always.
Image

21:59:47 A last preening before sleeping. :)

Good morning all

9:58 both got tired of standing and decided to lie down to rest a bit before taking off.
It's amazing to watch how they communicate with each other - either preening, touching sib's peak.
10:15 they played with something from the nest material.

11:48:46 Kati listens carefully and looks around.

Good morning to all the members of this forum.
My name is Franco and I am a photographer.
I have been following this site, since season 2008.
At the time a magazine for photographers had published the link on the Estonia black stork camera.
Since then I always follow him, even in winter.
I have to congratulate everyone for the passion and enthusiasm with which you follow these beautiful animals.
The nest of black stork this year was particularly exciting and spectacular.
The two remaining children seem to have developed an excellent character and friendship with each other. Is this perhaps due to the dangers they have overcome?
Special thanks to Mr. Urmas and his entire team. You from Estonia are an example for all of Europe for your commitment.
I have a question for Mr. Urmans:
During the 2008 season, I observed that at the end of the ring operation, Mister Urmas left a lot of fish on the nest, which the chicks then slowly ate. In the following years I have not seen any fish left after the ring operation.
Maybe there will be a reason?
Greetings to all from Italy.
