30. March
Good morning!
09:18
Pine cones are on the same place like yesteday
Since opening the cam a few minutes ago, stream struggled two times and was away completely, at the moment transmission works.

Jays do like cones, so the one who visits this nest will be very grateful to Urmas.

Hello everybody, LSE lovers, can I ask one (probably) very stupid question?
Why did Urmas put those Pine cones into the nest?

For the Jay! Adult eagles don't eat cones and jays like them.

Danielle, I guess "just like that". For the eagles they have no use - yet, on the other LSE nest we had the eaglet play "hunt" with them.Danielle wrote:Hello everybody, LSE lovers, can I ask one (probably) very stupid question? Why did Urmas put those Pine cones into the nest?
I don't know if jays will come to get them, though.

I take them for an indicator for any kind of movements on the nest.

Jays, woodpeckers, squirrels: anyone who sees those cones first will take them away.Felis silvestris wrote: I don't know if jays will come to get them, though.

I agree with you, Bea.Bea wrote:I take them for an indicator for any kind of movements on the nest.
On the other hand I wonder if there are any seeds to find for jays or other comrades - the cones seem to be so open and dryish ...

Lucy I think it's a male, chaffinch:)Lucy wrote:11:50 little bird visited the nest for a while, I think it was a male finch, but I'm not quite sure
I hear a blackbird singing pretty close to the nest. I'm thinking it will be another yelling bird, who will feel threatened by Eha and Koit, and for a very good reason
No cam, at least not for me, this evening
