This is another nest of Lesser Spotted Eagles in Estonia.
According to Urmas it belongs to LSE male "Magnus" and his partner. We know Magnus as one of the tagged birds in the Birdmap http://birdmap.5dvision.ee/EN/

Magnus has two nests in this area, like this it is not possible to determine which of the nests the pair is going to use.
The nest is located in Tartumaa, Southern Estonia.

Important events on the nest

April 20 - unmarked male arrives on the nest, female with ring (Estonia 672?) follows
April 24 - Magnus, the nest owner, arrives at the nest, mates with the female at first chance
May 2 - at 19:40 cam time the first egg appeared
May 7 - at 15:59 cam time the second egg appeared.
June 11 - the first chick hatched (see from: viewtopic.php?p=665001#p665001)
June 15 - the second chick hatched (see from: viewtopic.php?p=666429#p666429)
June 23 - second chick dies from cainism (see from: viewtopic.php?p=668978#p668978)
July 18 - the chick which was named "Maili" is being ringed "C25" (see from: viewtopic.php?p=677623#p677623)
Aug. 11 - Maili leaves the nest for the first time (viewtopic.php?p=686319#p686319)

A word of caution to everyone since we have two chicks in this nest this year!

Lesser Spotted Eagles generally raise only one chick every year, even if a second egg is laid and a chick hatches from the egg. A collection of articles and papers about cainism/siblicide you find in the Aquila Pomarina Database:
http://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/view ... f=53&t=590

Please remember:
The birds and animals in front of the webcams are animals in the wild, in their eternal struggle for survival. You have to be prepared for fight scenes with respective consequences! The operators of the cameras will very rarely interfere in nature's mundane hazards. The younger chick will not be taken out of the nest and set back later!

There was another visit at 20:05 cam time

But you are right, the birds near the cam are singing so loud, it is difficult to hear the eagles. But I think I can also hear them from time to time a bit further away.
