Is it possible Maili has already flown from branch to branch without us knowing? She is learning so fast. I was so afraid of missing her maiden flight, but she is using her wings so well already.

Hi MaryJane, it is possible, because sometimes Maila sounds farther away when calling. But I have trouble recognising them by their voices.

Hello,

11:14
Maia brings a frog and waits.
11:17
Maia eats the frog.

11:19
Magnus brings a vole.

Maia calls and wants to feed her chick.
11:23
Maia begins to eat the vole. She stops eating again and again and looks around.

11.21

Rustling in the branches where the yellow ring is, then in the white ring a large bird is visible flying to the left.
My guess is, Eaglet is too low to reach the nest for now, she needs some more practising first.
Image
Zoomed last picture and now see white wing tips of the pictured bird. Can not be Maila, can it?????? Or maybe she has not spread her wings completely?

Can not get it better than this:

Maili sounded very anxious when Maia came to the nest with the frog. Did she fly away? Or she still just branching and can't come to the nest? It is good to see Maia!

Looks like our Maili has made the next step. Might be that she does not come back to the nest at all, we've had both in the past, some last visits and not been seen again there as well.

I looked back and Maili must have gone from the branches, because she has not been in the nest at all today.
Fly safe, dear Maili!

11.47 Maia left the nest.

She hopped or "flew" yesterday already between the right branch and the camera branch. Trying out if she can reach a farther away place seems logic.
Yes, fly safe, Maili, tuult tiibadesse!

Went back in time:
At 5.42 Eaglet was at the nest for the last, jumping a few times up the right branch and back and then jumped the branch in front and did not come back.

Have a long and happy life, Maila. Hope to see you back some time :loveshower:
