It is now very dark, but the female still sitteth quietly in the nest.

It's a good sign. I remember Tuuli spent at least one night on the nest before eggs, and also Betina from the Latvian nest was there yesterday when it became dark, today the first egg came.

Magnus checks the nest for comfort and makes a few improvements

Both appeared during the morning several times with sticks and conifer branches for doing some more nestwork

Cam archive started at 05:04 and the female was still there (I suppose she was there the whole night)

It is the female LSE, and maybe we are getting an egg now, she seems tense. And very wet.

And the male's name is Magnus, not Markus.

Not the ideal time to have the egg, stormy as it is.

You are right, Felis, she seems uneasy and she is slightly opening and closing her beak as if she is silently quacking, like in the osprey nest.

19:38: She is in labour. I clearly see her belly contracting.

And she is looking down between her legs a lot.

Beautiful egg! And hard work under not so good conditions.
