Here is a link to some of the daily happenings on this nest.
Port Lincoln Osprey Observation Board

November 20

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 2473623081
2020.11.20 - Here is a sneak peak of some of what we will see once Solly fledges. The reporting will be more accurate once she leaves the barge - so they tell me. I think all the metal might interfere with it a little, but at least we know it is working somewhat.

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 7450322250
2020.11.20 - 61 & 60 days old - Dad is in his 'man cave' and spies a stick that he thinks should be on the nest.

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 5463656782
2020.11.20 - 61 & 60 days old - Dad delivers a lively fish but Mum lets it slip thru her talons…she was lucky enough to be able to quickly retrieve it and bring it back to the barge to feed Solly & Dew

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 4140334581
2020.11.20 61 & 60 days old - I don't think Solly is going to stick with the 'lock down'. She is getting ready to leave home.

November 19

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 3343737994
2020.11.19 - 60 & 59 days old - Solly is really testing her wings today - think Mum came back to the nest to tell her to be careful of the edge...

November 17

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 7020571293
2020.11.17 - 58 & 57 days old - Dew is very busy feeding himself tonight - ate the whole fish.

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 6883905640
2020.11.17 - 58 & 57 days old - Dad delivers a fish and Dew takes it and doesn't want to share. He thinks he's got it covered but it is poking out behind him so Solly takes advantage and pinches it from behind.

November 24

2020.11.24 - 65 & 64 days old - Solly has finally fledged. Will post videos shortly but here are some photos. We went out just to make sure she hadn't landed in the water on her first flight. Mum has gone off towards the shipyards - probably to catch a fish and entice her back to the nest. Solly is sitting on the roof of the wheelhouse.
:loveshower:

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 5443264784
2020.11.24 - 65 & 64 days old - Oh to be so brave when taking your first flight to just lift off - but I guess she doesn't have much choice. Hope she doesn't stay away too long.

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 9596595702
2020.11.24 - 65 & 64 days old - And Solly returns - she could be on a high after her first flight - or she could be back to being a bully - or maybe she's trying to convince Dew to take a flight also - will let you be the judge.

November 21

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 7146911947
2020.11.21 - 62 & 61 days old - When you see Solly & Dew together like this it's hard to believe that they squabble like they do.

All four together again...

Solly makes a perfect landing at the nest 15:36, but behaved again very aggressive against Drew. He has it not easy with his sister.

2020.11.30 - 71 & 70 days old - Solly is testing out the landing spots today. She even spent some time down in Dads' 'manacle' before going for a walk around the deck of the barge.

2020.11.30 - 71 & 70 days old - Don't think it will be too much longer till Dew fledges - just hope it's not tonight!

2020.12.03 - 74 & 73 days old - It doesn't take Dew long to act like an adult - sitting on the railings on his first flight. Well done Dew 👏👏👏

December 9

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 3688513626
2020.12.09 - 80 & 79 days old - Solly & Dew are both sitting on top of the mast on the nearby boat. Probably a better vantage point to look for fish - not that they've really tried that as yet.

December 8

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 1581922170
2020.12.08 - 79 & 78 days old - Dad delivers a fish but Dew thinks it is just for him.

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 7748589220
2020.12.08 - 79 & 78 days old - Pay back time - Dew is practicing his lift offs and takes a stick with him - I'm sure it wasn't intentional but he drops it above Solly's head.🤣🤣

2020.12.16 - 87 & 86 days old - Dad brings a fish for Solly but she thinks she is too grown up now to eat in the nest and takes it to the rail to eat.

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 482586780/
2020.12.15 - 86 & 85 days old - Dad eventually lands with a fish, both chicks are hungry. Solly lifts off with it to keep it away from Dew - first time Solly has actually lifted off with a fish - growing up.

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 587699178/
2020.12.13 - 84 & 83 days old - Dew decides to inspect Dad's Mancave and then the water that is lying on the floor of the barge.

Calypso news

January 16, 2021

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 6011702060
I hope Calypso, Solly, Dew & Bluey all appreciate the help our Environment Minister has given to all the Ospreys in South Australia. His passion for the environment and wildlife is amazing. Can't wait to see where Solly goes to with her tracker. We know she is visiting 'Delamere' so possibly following Mum & Dad over there to learn how to fish. Need a few of our local photographers so keep an eye out for her.

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 0158365312
Mark Wright was lucky enough to watch and photograph Calypso on the foreshore this morning catch and then eat a flounder. It was a bit of a struggle to get it to the beach but she was successful. Thanks for sharing Mark.

Our locals are so lucky to be able to see Calypso catching and eating a fish on the main beach this morning. Thanks for sharing Sarah

I think Calypso is becoming a bit of a 'celebrity' today.

2021.02.02 - Mum is all alone on the barge tonight. Dew hasn't been seen for a week and Solly is way up past Elliston. Interesting to see how far inland she went and how far she has flown on her first major flight.

January 29

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 092741548/
2021.01.29 - 131 & 130 days old - Dew hasn't been around the last few days and Solly is enjoying her time home alone. Mum & Dad are still delivering fish for her but not many. Hope Dew pops by for a final feed so that we know he is faring well and catching plenty of fish. Need the locals to keep their eyes looking up and report if they see him anywhere.

Port Lincoln Osprey :
Star had only done a few little flights so I'm sure Dew is fine.

January 19

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 578520477/
2021.01.19 - 121 & 120 days old - Dew is quite happy to eat alone on the rails.

Birdfriend
I think Dew has been independent and embarked on his adventure, and Solly has also started her flying trip.
best wishes for them.

2021.02.08 - Dad, followed closely by Mum returned to the barge at 20.34 last night. They both spent all night on the nest, didn't even fly to a perch. Must be checking to make sure the kids have finally left home.

Solly's news

Cecilia Crowder was lucky enough to spot Solly enjoying the view from the Streaky Bay jetty at 8.30am this morning.

If you are out walking in Streaky Bay you never know - you might just meet Solly. Thanks for sharing Cecilia Crowder

Calypso's news

March 24

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 1915677469
Peter Wilkins was lucky enough to capture these photos of Calypso flying at Horse Rock in the Lincoln National Park on the weekend. We know for sure it was Calypso because of the blue band but not really sure who she is with - maybe Mum.

https://www.facebook.com/portlincolnosp ... 3842343943
Looks like Calypso has returned to her usual place along the Port Lincoln foreshore. @Rob Watson was lucky enough to capture these photos of her on his early morning walk. Looks like she has been for a swim in the ocean.
