Hi Cessie

You're welcome!
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

From the site, June 5

A damaged egg in the nest was broken and consumed by Iris, with the remaining eggshell carried off by Louis later that day. A second egg may still be damaged, and we are waiting to see whether it hatches soon.

 Everyone!
We can hope for a least 1 Osplet for Iris and Louis.
I will feel sick for dear Iris if she doesn't have a chick again this year!
Iris has been acting odd, to me anyway, crying for Louis to feed her, from the fish that he has on the nest while she incubates her eggs. I have observed this twice and read the tweets. I know of this behavior and it is normal sometimes but I want Iris to be happy.

:slap: I thought I saw a chick in the nest just now! :slap:
I deleted my post about it. I saw on Twitter the 2 eggs so no chick.
I think I'm going to take a nap.

I wonder if this behavior by Iris isn't to teach Louis how to feed chicks? Maybe so! :puzzled: :headroll:

Here's Louis, caught eating on a pole, then bringing the fish to Iris and feeding her quite a bit. This wasn't the first time he'd done that, either.

But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,

Hi Chimega!
Great video, thank you. That Iris is a good teacher, and I think Louis will be a good father to the chick(s).
The camera operators do a great job at Hellgate.

I'm watching the new Osprey camera on explore . org from Charlo, Montana right now and the male, Charlie is feeding fish to the female, Charlotte, while she is covering her 2 chicks!
Which reminds me of our princess Iris!
Louis at hellgate is really a gem at egg sitting now...counting down till their egg(s) hatch!

Hi Cessie

I have seen that new cam. It's really great with good clarity to the cam. I watch too many osprey cams as it is, though. :rotf: There are a few here in my own state that I check in on and record, sometimes, but there is no sound so it's kinda boring. One has 3 nice very healthy chicks. I'm not sure about the other but it's through the Iowa DNR but no sound, there, either. Ack. Why put up a cam with no sound, huh? :slap:

Yep, waiting for those eggs to hatch. The first one, actually #3 we think, should have hatched by now or is late. The other is due to hatch on Thursday, I believe. One of those eggs just has to hatch or poor Iris is going to be beside herself and poor Louis won't know what to think since this is probably his first time at being a dad. I hope they get at least 1 healthy chick!

I will check out Iowa Ospreys tomorrow...I agree the cams need sound!
Chimega, I'm hoping that you will find time to video Irma and Ivo's nest in the coming days! They have 2 chicks & awful weather now but when it is nice.

I will try to get over to Irma's and Ivo's nest tonight. I am still uploading a video from Mati and Mai and as soon as that's done, then upload some photos, I'll post those in their thread, then on to Irma! :2thumbsup:
