UPDATE: This bird is a Llyn Clywedog offspring (Blue KS8, female) from 2018

Just landed on the Dyfi nest. Many congratulations to all the team at Natural Resources Wales!
That's the second 2018 Welsh chick that is now back.

As much as we dearly miss Monty, it is, nonetheless, fascinating to watch the dynamics of Telyn and her new partner.
Idris, extremely well-meaning but slightly clumsy with it, suddenly finds himself with the kids, home alone.

If you were watching the Live Streaming with us this morning and wondering who our guest was...

A Scottish two-year old (2018) male from South Argyle, ringed Blue LJ2.

Blue LJ2 was spotted at the Kartong Bird Observatory in The Gambia in October 2018, December 2019 and again in January this year!
He is also the bird we spotted on this nest last week (2nd June) so, interestingly, he has not yet presumably returned to his native Scotland.
Blue LJ2 has an overgrown claw on his right foot which will help us ID him if he pops up again.

He took off at 08:52 - and he's a record breaker. Tywi is the youngest of all Dyfi chicks to fledge (by around seven hours)
