Blue 3J is looking very homely on the nest today, but we have news...
An osprey was sighted on the Exe Estuary yesterday evening and Janine is convinced that Glesni takes this route back north every year and that this bird is Glesni.
Thing is, Janine is never wrong! Keep Calm and Look Up

The Clywedog female, Delyth, has returned home (yep, yet another Welsh bird more than 10 days late - they're coming...).
Delyth has displaced Dai Dot and Blue 24 off the Clywedog nest and both started heading this way.
A few minutes later... sky-dancing, ospreys everywhere, screaming, fighting... then Blue 24 lands on the nest next to her cousin Blue 3J, both mantling.
Both girls have now disappeared into the distance to sort it out, just like Blue 24 and Glesni did in 2013; Monty awaits the winner...
Keep even calmer, and keep looking up....


No need more drama...
I hope that Blue 24 and Dai Dot are together and breed

Most raptors exhibit what's called 'delayed incubation', meaning that for multi-egg clutches, continuous incubation doesn't occur until the second or third eggs are laid. Blue 3J is not incubating throughout the night which is normal for ospreys.

This morning she resumed incubation duties at 04:31. Just like this.
