Hi Chessie

This is not the first time that Tom and Audrey have "adopted" a chick. I remember several years ago, a youngster showed up and decided to stay for almost a week, it seems. In the end, the adoptee was helping to feed the other chicks. :rotf: I have video of that somewhere on youtube. I will have to hunt them down and post them.
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Hi Birdfriend,

That's good to hear. :rotf: I am always afraid I am posting too much. Lots going on at Hog Island. Rachel was still with us 24 hours ago.

Horrible hurricane coming up the Atlantic coast. Possibly the worst, ever. It is now predicted to hit every state on the east coast! I know Dr Bjerregaard is very concerned about one of the Ospreys he looks after.

It's one of the strongest hurricans ever, horrible. The climate change is to feel with all his consequences all over the world.

Belwood Lake

6.September

Luther brought this huge fish to the chick, during the chick was eating he came with the next, a small, as dessert.
The youngster left the big one and was eating the dessert- fishie. Then he/she was so stuffed, that the half big previous fish was alone in the nest til 13:47 cam time. :D

I guess, Luther and his last chick are on their long journey now...
Yesterday in the morning I saw both on the nest for the last time, Luther brought a half eaten fish to the youngster.
I wish Luther, Sera and both chicks a safe migration and a reunion with Luther and Sera in 2020...hopefully.

Hi Birdfriend

I am glad for Luther that he and his chicks and mate made it ok and are on their migrations. I think the storm has passed the area where they would be passing through at this time. I hope and pray no more storms while our beloved birds are migrating.

Chick sustains high wind as Hurricane Dorian moves through the area. Then returns the next morning.
