The Charlo Montana nest has been taken over by a pair of Canada Geese, again. Just like last year. So Owl Research went out and put up a cage in the nest in the hopes it would act as a barrier and repel the Geese. We shall see. I think they are going to have to add more!

Boulder County, Longmont Colorado

March 21th

Here, too, the countdown is on for the resident Ospreys to return.
In recent years, they have returned between March 17th and March 22nd.

The nest has been completely restored. It was a lot of work and I'm curious to see if the Ospreys will recognize it again. :D

Congratulations Rosie and Richmond! 😍
Rosie laid her first egg of the season this evening at 7:12 pm. We expect another two eggs to come around three days apart.
Wondering why the egg looks white at night? The infrared (IR) light washes the reds out.

Here's a video of the happy event.

Barnegat Light, location, Long Beach Island, New Jersey.

Two Ospreys have shown up today but neither is one of the residents. The male is recognized as an interloper aka intruder from last year who tried to take over the nest.
