Can you guess what Rosie's hiding? Yep: our first (alpha) hatchling was hidden under Mama Rosie. In the bottom picture, watch Rosie offering the first bits of solid food just moments ago.

People appreciate the "clean" nests in Estonia or Latvia.
What a plastic nest but despite the snowfall a few days ago everything is okay.

heartbreaking news

We are sad to say that the smallest, youngest, and weakest of the SFBayOspreys.org chicks passed away overnight. Apparent cause of death appears to be hypothermia from the unseasonably rainy and cold night.

If you remember the surviving fledgling from the 2017 (inaugural) season of Golden Gate Audubon's SFBayOspreys.org project, you'll be very glad to know that this now 2-year-old bird made a confirmed re-appearance just above the natal nest this week! The hovering Osprey is wearing color-marked blue band, ZR: this bird is Rivet!
