Glaslyn's resident female Mrs G is back
What a wonderful moment when Mrs G landed on the Glaslyn nest this afternoon.Sheer delight for everyone. It was only a matter of seconds though before she was airborne again and chasing Blue 24. She landed again and defended her nest vigorously. Shortly afterwards she left the nest and returned just over 20 minutes later with a flat fish.

Last night one of our volunteers spotted a male osprey land onto 5F’s back. The bird was ringed on its right leg. Who was this bird? Our volunteer thought she could read a number 3 – could it really be? Was that an R next to it? If it was a 3 and an R it would be Gwynant – born at Dyfi on 8 June 2014 to Monty and Glesni.

Wind back the recordings, no recordings at the protection site! Get to the visitor centre – scroll back – patience, excitement – here it is – YES it is him – a Welsh male returned to Wales.

and
Bywyd Gwyllt Glaslyn Wildlife - Glaslyn Ospreys.

There has been no sighting at Glaslyn of Gwynant since Friday. If the eggs are viable then Aran is the mate.

Update - 5F left the PC nest at 17:00 today and was spotted by the Visitor Centre manager at 17:30 on a perch not far from her nest. 5F was eating a small fish which she had caught herself evidenced by the fact that she was still wet. We now suspect that she has been fishing each time we have seen her absent from the nest over the past few days and think that she uses perches we are unable to see some of the time.

More wonderful news! :bounce: :bounce:

The second 2018 Glaslyn Osprey Chick hatched at 16:41 today.

There was a delightful moment or two during hatching where the chick tried to return inside the shell.
