Bad news out of the nest - from morning peering and no toddlers, I do not know what happened in the night

They write that rangers are out on the way to the nest, to find out what happened there ...what a loss
Three hatched chicks away .... hope that nothing bad happened to the parent birds, too ....

Terrible news...
Have been watching this nest every day lately, and the parents did so well, keeping all 3 eaglets wellfed and happy. There were eight feedings yesterday and now the nest is empty. I see no parents either at the moment.
Normally there's always at least 1 parent with the chicks on the nest, and most likely 2 at night, the other being perched somewhere higher in the nest tree. So if it was an owl-attack for example, the parents would be there to defend, and even then not all 3 chicks would be taken. Same if it was some goshawk or buzzard or so. They wouldn't stand a chance against a defending parent.
Perhaps some marten has been there... but again, then the parents must both have been off the nest.
Lets wait till the ranger(s) return and give us a report, but I fear this might be the work of humans... either local farmers who fear for their livestock, or poachers stealing babies to sell on the black market.
Btw, the camera is hosted on Ustream and I think Ustream has an archive, so perhaps someone could go check the archive if there is any, and see what happened in the morning hours. (I don't know how that works myself unfortunately).
EDIT:
Info on nest cam has changed now, saying they have checked the nest area with a 150m circle around it, and no traces of human activity were found there. Theory is now that it was a marten.

I did a bit around earlier with translating some comments in the social stream (using Google translator - so this is all not proofed) and it seems that the ranger was already at the nest and found no sign of a crime done by humans.
He supposed that it could have been a marten that robbed the chicks.
I hope macko50 will update us here soon
Edit:
Kukelke - your edit and my post were same time :)
