Have you tested it already, unp? Is the discrepancy between picture and sound repaired?

Hard to say. Here is a test video (YouTube says it's unsynchronized) and its parameters according to MediaInfo.

Usually, audio is ahead of video when the Source duration value exceeds the Duration value in the Video section. However, in another test file:

- the situation is reversed. The quality (Bits/(Pixel*Frame)) is higher too. Seems that video is ahead of audio and the bird certainly stops moving before the clip ends. (Couldn't upload the second video, there was some error, will try later.)

Same player, same camera, different time. Maybe it's not VLC's behavior but that of the stream that varies.

Edited to add:
The second video

I was just going to throw in a question about vlc and not syncronized videos and saw that you others already have a discussion about it. I have been struggling with that issue for several weeks and have been reading vlc forum and other places too and what I have found is that it doesn't matter what OS you have, what PC you have or how much RAM or CPU or video card, vlc does not treat the recorded streams well. VLC have its own codecs while other players have the option to add more codecs. But in the end, there is no other free good program that can stream MPEG4, H264 and AAC as vlc does. So I guess we have to live with it or learn the best settings.

I think Videolan/VLC knows about it, at least I found something on their forums last time I looked. I did not look though recently if they work on it or not. I just read somewhere that the next version is due to come out soon. We patiently wait and see if the issue is solved.

Let's hope so. :)

i have recently downloaded and watched some Pontu-videos from last spring recorded at Linda's and Sulev's nest. the sound and picture are in synchrony in those videos, no problem there, even though the recordings are 4 hours long. i have re-recorded some shorter clips from these 4-hour-videos with VLC and in these re-recordings the sound and picture match. therefore i think that the un-synchrony is not a general problem with VLC.

in the VLC-recordings that we made from the livestream the picture got more and more delayed from sound (or sound ahead of picture). the mismatch was in constant proportion so that the length of the soundtrack was 80 % of the length of the "picturetrack". when such a video was uploaded to Youtube the lenght of the soundtrack became the lenght of the resulting tube-video. after i had realized that i always had to record live stream for a some time after an interesting event to get it on the film.

i think that Fireblade suspected at one stage that the un-synchronization was a problem of VLC recording live stream... he had used some other recording and that worked ok...? :puzzled:

Youtube and Gmail are parts of Google. Google has been recently urging people to create GooglePlus accounts if they are using Youtube and/or Gmail. some people wish not to do that. i am one of those stubborn people.

the Google's tactic seems to be to almost force people to create these accounts. in that attemp they have for example hidden the old, "normal" Youtube accounts. yesterday i had some hard time to find my account and finally i did not remember how i got there. this morning i managed to keep a more cool head and now i can show how to get there. :D

what you'll probably see is the top row where your e-mail address is on the left side of the person icon and a blue line under them, nothing more (black arrow). click the icon and the text in the orange circle will pop out. click on the "Switch account" and you'll get a list of your Youtube accounts. select the one that you want to use.

So far I seem to get sent immediately to my G+ (MINUS) account. I am now attempting to upload my video via G+.
