( my mouse is making tricks, it makes double clicks, double posts.. huh..
Yes, it is a real spring now here.
My dogs need special attention during the next four weeks, especially Nappu. Because she has spring feelings, heat time. It means more time for both of them. But I will follow squirrels too, of course.

There is now also two small videos of that same morning, with the natural sound: small birds and a Black woodpecker, on the first post today.

Squirrels visit normally, some of them, daily one or two:
27.April
A female, resembles Paula, but there are differences, not only the fact that paws of this female are perfect.

I think I remember thinking that Anja had that little bit longer nose, like that which is visible in some of these pictures.
But that is just feeble memory.
BUT
Nappu is sure beautiful.

Yes, Alice, I agree, Nappu is an absolute cutie!
Olga, did you look at the photos from the competition on the main page? I looked through them yesterday, some really fantastic ones are there, and also 2 squirrel photos!

Nappu and Nanu keep me a bit nervous, I have to have ears and eyes on my back too! And never forget any wrong door open..
I have some pics to be uploaded! Squirrels of today, and two small videos of Paula yesterday. I'll check if they are too many - pictures are not the best, the lighting is too bright on back ground, my cam goes 'mad' (it's not the most high quality machine..)

Alice, you do remember basically right, almost right!alice44 wrote:I think I remember thinking that Anja had that little bit longer nose, like that which is visible in some of these pictures.

Silk ear's (Paula is her name for the summer 2012) profile is not as roundish or short as Anja's, how to say, but a bit longer and as a way more straight from the nose top to the front head. And the cheeks of Silk ear Paula are like 'pale', not as brown as Anja's but a bit light gray yellowish...
I'll find some pics to be compare.. I wait till they have changed their fur. I hope we in some weeks can recognize about three females, 'Silk ear Paula, Anja and Smiley, too! Of course it may have happened also, that some one has moved to an other forest and some other one has moved here instead..

Paula, yesterday:
28th April:
That paw.. She does not use it as much as the other front paw, but anyway, she is able to use it.
Yesterday she mostly happened to turn her back to the lens - I allowed her eat in calm,..
The paw of other squirrels look just the same as the wrist of Paula seen here, - so, the squirrel wrist is much more flexible than mine..yes..

28th April,
Also a small male squirrel was there too, yesterday. But the lighting was so difficult that Windows Movie Maker claimed that the videos have been 'broken' or something like that, and WMP turned the videos I had taken to black: your movie can't be saved if you not remove them! The most parts of the video I had chosen from a longer video, the best parts too turned black with a yeallow triangle on each - like warning.
I took then just some screen captures of the male. Is it Baby face, I don't know. Or is it an other Baby face, a young looking not very tall squirrel. He was shy, he went back and forth and was desturbed by the moving curtain..
To my mind he looks young and familiar:
( no video, just pictures..)

Today the lighting was again difficult, a very sharp and bright sun shine behind and the squirrels in focus in shadow .
(I dont' have that 'item' that should be for help in these kind of lighting.. vastavalosuoja.. a hood? says google translator.
I'll think how to edit those videos I took today. There were again the same male squirrel as yesterday , and a female. But who was she? I have seen her before, but her fur is all spotted, also changing to red brown. I can't even say is she one of those females we have seen during last weeks! But I will find some pics to make comparisons. Well, tomorrow all squirrels look again more different ..
It is possible that WMM does not accept my videos, anyway, I have taken some screen captures. Is it because of the strong contrasts that WMM does not accept??
