Same here, Bea. On the contrary, a breeding red kite not far from here might stall building a wind turbine, if he/she decides to breed in spring. I have seen many black ones, but also not here ... :innocent:

In the area where I grew up (near river Danube, Niederbayern) were several Red Kites, but years ago. Don´t know how the situation is now. They are not so difficult to identify when they are flying - with their typical V-tailfeathers ...

Where I grew up (which is not that far from where you are now) we had only buzzards and the occasional goshawk. Buzzards for that were a lot, every year I saw them taking their first flights after fledging!

Thanks a lot for all your nice comments  . I'm happy to share this nice moments with you :loveshower: .

We have for example 10 times more Buzzards than Red Kites in Switzerland. So I'm surprised to see so many of them.

I think I´d prefer the parachute/missile version :rotf:
Bea - I just found the solution for you doggie - it has to be constructed a bit bigger and doggie might not be able to climb over as elegantly as a cat, but it's the ultimate and luxurious surround view elevator:

This is really luxurious :rotf: . Maybe the family lives in the cellar and the rest of the house is "cat's territory" .

 Yesterday we were out to check the eagle nest in barsbek. It is a protected nest (close to a street and close to humans). The nest guard told us, that we were 30min to late to see a mating in the nest.

No eagles, only the nest
Image

The owner (or so) of the close field was there to check the field (or so).
Image

He was so close, that he chased away the female wte (she is not ringed and the old male is :D )
There was time (for me) for only one picture

I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for the WTE in fireblade's area! Hope the closeness to people does not affect them. But I guess they must have been aware of the people while building the nest.

 Thank you. But I have a bad feeling with "our" WTE-Pair. Linda/Sulev are a little noisy, but this pair is silent (the short time I am there). Ok I am a pessimist and hope.
Todays pictures so are more spring 2013

Fireblade: It looks now really like spring arrive on your pictures. I like the photo with the Bees.
About WTE's: When we all cross our fingers soooo much, it must be a happy-end with your eagle-pair  .

Well, the solution with the elevator is great, but I found "the best" solution ...

Okay, it will take a bit time to train doggie for that .....
