On the way to my parents I am crossing an area, which is well know for cultivation of Humulus/Hop ... a plant which is needed to brew famous yummie Bavarian beer
The region is called "Hallertau"
Farmers are already preparing the so called "hop-gardens" ... replacing old poles and repairing the wires. Hop is climbing up on the wires.
Churches and chapels everywhere ....
This is a field with asparagus - tunnels covered with plastik films, to make growth faster

Here going to see the new born baby lambs is a popular spring event. Nobody thinks of food. (We do not eat much lamb, but we use a lot of wool.)
We also grow a lot of hops.

So the hop-gardens are a familiar view for you, alice.alice44 wrote:Here going to see the new born baby lambs is a popular spring event. Nobody thinks of food. (We do not eat much lamb, but we use a lot of wool.)

Sheep are bred here mostly for meat, the money they get for wool is too less.

Airras - you have already lizards that have to hide from sun and heat, we have to wait until summer to see this here.
