Earlier it was perhaps easier to recognize who is who... Their fur color have different tone as well as the tail and tassels are different too. Now that there are more squirrels I can hardly recognize for example the dark brown Castano, gold brown Charley (of course their bodies are gray now), deep reddish brown Mops Jr and his Mrs Mops (the 'summer' color can be seen on their face and paws).
Paula's face is almost gray also in the summer (light grayish brown), and now she is gray from toe to top.
Mr Spock! He has the longest tassels ever seen on Squirrel hill!
He had long tassels even in the summer he was born:

It was Bea who happened to give him the name Mr Spock. :D

There are several (4-5?) new squirrels whom I can't recognize, many of them look like ''Phantom'' :D (darkish face with some light color around the eyes).

I wish a
Happy New Year 2016 to all red squirrel friends, to Looduskalender and to all members!

When you this say...It is really difficult to see the differences. :D
But the first looks like a bit as Mr. Spock.

Your squirrel looks great! His/her fur looks dark gray, but actually it is rather dark brown? 'My' squirrels' winter fur is lighter, only Castano's fur is rather dark.

It's getting colder here, even - 40 C has been promised for next week. I can't believe!
But I'm alrady making coconut butter fat balls for birds.

Olga, - 40 C  (And I think - 14 is too cold, it's what they have predicted here, but compared to 40 it's nothing  ) Lucky for the birds and squirrels that they have your feeder, then they can use less energy searching for food.
I see the Black Woodpecker is visiting your feeder again, and the Lesser Spotted Woodpecker - lucky you!
I have a some Great Spotted Woodpeckers at my feeder, and sometimes Green Woodpecker. Black Woodpeckers are around, but they have never visited my feeder.
Thank you for the update from Squirrel Hill, and Happy New Year to you all

It's getting colder day by day. Today it was -14 C in the morning.

Lots of birds and squirrels visited. Here you can see some of them

Today I saw all three different woodbeckers: Black Woodpecker, Gray-headed Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker and Lesser Spotted Woodpecker! The last one on the list I didn't get on video.

The - 40 C will be in North Finland by the end of week! Fingers crossed, please, that not here!
