RS MAKOV

Maruška (adult female white stork):
Mr. Šejna wrote in guestbook: "from about Thursday we will give her special medicines applied into vein, we will see"

OMG this youngster (very unusual behaviour from storklet and also from the great egret/Sněhurka) https://www.facebook.com/vera.jakobiova ... 521571811/

16:20 Drobek came home to meet his parents.

It's raining now.

18:55 He is having diner near the pond

Later he went up to the tower for the night.

Weather is very bad, heavy rain. Not the best moment to "travel"...

Documentation about WS (there is not much new to learn) but recordings are breathtakingly beautiful. Especially shots in Spain.
I recommend watching them. (sadly only in German)

Thanks Sova! I don't understand each word, but you cannot "sell me" in german  My gr-ma talked German and she lived with us during my childhood.

The pictures of storks were beautiful as well as all the places they visited on their ways.
Loos like the way from Spain is more complicated than from Turkey. Even when they go to Morocco, they have to cross the Sahara , while when they go to Egypt, they have the Nile where they have some food.

It might be interesting to know if there is some data about the amount of lost storks from each side.

Vijerika is the one goose - the goose is Vejířka
(vejíř = fan - her angel wing resembles a lady's fan)

Shnehurka (snjegulica) is the silver heron - (Sněhurka = Snow White, in German Schneewittchen ... Grimm: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)

Popelka is/are the grey heron/s
(Popelka = Cinderella - often grey from cinder; in German Aschenputtel or Aschenbrödel ... Grimm: Cinderella)

who is who in RS (somewhat outdated) http://makovacek.netstranky.cz/kdo-je-kdo-v-makove.html

Maruska (Maruška - female) is WS, Honzik (male) also WS
Drobek (is crumb, but also the littlest one) the young WS

Two hours ago Marushka was taken to the aviary and tomorrow she will get medicine. That is certainly stressfull for her and Honzik, but necessary to treat her leg.

Thanks! When I saw him alone on the nest for the night, I remembered that there were news about it 2-3 days ago.
Let's hope it'll help her; She is very courageous and strong
