It's possible that the stork died for other reasons and the transmitter was found with the dead bird. That's the other side of the coin. If birds carry transmitters, we get to know about their deaths
Liz01 wrote: June 8th, 2018, 12:36 pm that's an interesting thought! But I can't imagine, anyone is finding the transmitter! :puzzled:

I read your reply in the chat as well. It looks like only Vejirka is hiding during molting while all the ducks and storks aren't. If only Marushka. Yesterday Berta and Rada played with a huge black feather of one of the parents, last year storklets also did the same.

I don't know about Kim Kardashian because he must be in my blocklist for offtopping and I don't see his messages.

Yes, I read that very strange comment under the stream. Edith P., however, gives another version: the storklet was thrown away because of the lack of food.

The day before yesterday I saw the stream and it seemed to me that one of the storklets did not move but I was not sure.

Edith P. wrote that in reply ("Edith P Rodzic uznał , że nie dają rady utrzymać trzech młodych i wyeliminował " trzeciaka ", jaj zaobserwowałam , w tym rejonie jest mało pokarmu ...), but it is not one her video - that is only her words/her interpretation, no facts

the another 2 observers saw that situation on-line and wrote anything very analogous to news by streamprovider

yes, in this nest is not much food

This year many white stork chicks are thrown out of the nest. The weather is too dry. Even the adult do not find enough food for themselves.

When young storks are thrown out of the nest by their parents, it can be life-threatening for them. Rescue is available for them at the Storchenhof in Loburg. Because there they will be fed up again.

It's a pity that to help black storklets this way is impossible. But at least situation changed this year and that's good to hear(in 2015 Baska wrote that to save white storks in Germany was forbidden).

Black storks avoid people, their nests are far in the forest and it is hard to notice what happens there and hard to reach the nest.
