oh dear closing
I find it interesting to watch when one pig stays in about the same place and the others move.

Shortly before the lights went out 2 raccoon dogs were on the grounds -- I don't think I got a capture.
And now at 3:49 there are some interesting "clicks" (sounds like a bird somehow) and some other little morning noises.

I was thinking yesterday that it looks like chestnuts (Kastanien). As kids we used to collect them for "the animals in the woods". A friend's dad had hunting grounds and he took them. But there were no wild boars, only deer.

Wow, after trying since yesterday, I finally got that video uploaded! YouTube seems to have big problems once the video is a bit bigger than 2 or 3 MB, this was 37 MB. Even Photobucket gave up, but today it worked!
But - it is not really that exciting, it's the food delivery, nothing else. Still, I wanted to see if I manage, because once the piglets appear, I think the video also might get a "bit bigger"

Boar love chestnuts, too. On the picture this things seem bigger than chestnuts. We saw it often at the wood cam of the other boars.Felis silvestris wrote:I was thinking yesterday that it looks like chestnuts (Kastanien). The last days I asked some hunters in our region about piglets and they told me there would be many footsteps to see on places where hunters put some grains of maize. This is maybe since March.

I think yesterday they got potatoes. Hardly chestnuts grow in Estonia.

I don't know what happened today with bringing the food. It was absolutely an other way than in the time before.
I am anxious to see what is going on this evening with the pigs and this little bit of new food. The special boar got some food into the wood
Greetings from Bleggi

Yes, it's strange today. Hardly any new food (maybe because they did not "eat up"? ) and the pigs came also very late today!

Three pigs have been cautiously approaching closer to the camera.
(Maybe all the food is gone and that is why the cam is going to go off soon)

Maybe it is chestnuts and they did not eat them because they don't know them? For potatos they look a bit strange, boiled they would have gotten smashed, unboiled? For acorns it is too big.asteria wrote:I think yesterday they got potatoes. Hardly chestnuts grow in Estonia.

Oh no !!!!
No piglets to see on this cam, too
But, on the other hand, it is good to see that they obviously find now food enough in the woods an that they can grow up their piglets "normal way"....
Many thanks to Peep and Silvi and their helpers, bringing the food for the animals every day, no matter how bad the weather was, and taking care for the camera, so that we could join and watch you there.
And also thanks for the "Häit Pühi" for us, when there was a celebration day - I found this so very special and personal and delighting
Or your waving "good bye" when you had been ready delivering the daily food and returned home
And the breathtaking moments watching you sitting among the boars ....
So have a good time during summer and autumn - and I hope to see you again healthy and up well next winter.
