“Novi Sad, Serbia – WWF is launching a campaign in Serbia for the responsible use of pesticides called ´Listen up and stop the poisoning! The eagle is down!´ The reason is the increasing number of pesticide poisonings of strictly protected animals. Among them are greatly endangered species like the white-tailed eagle, but also domestic animals.”

According to the article, local conservationist Uwe Robitzky is quite sure that the bird died from eating poisoned bait.

60.Nesting aid for “homeless” eagles. Germany, April 2015

The nesting tree in a forest near Stangheck was cut down illegally some weeks ago after conservationists criticised plans to build a windfarm nearby.
Now the local NABU group is raising money to build an artificial nesting platform for the breeding pair.

Local authorities confirmed today the presence of a White-tailed Eagle breeding pair – a small ornithological sensation for the area. According to the article, the nesting territory was made public with the aim to protect the rare raptors from human disturbance.

69.Hurricane Niklas destroys White-tailed Eagle nests. Germany, April 2015

According to the article, the storm which has raged across Germany on March 31st destroyed two White-tailed Eagle nests in Saxony-Anhalt near the River Elbe. A three-week-old chick died when the nest crashed to the ground. At the second place a clutch of two eggs was lost when the hurricane knocked down the nesting tree.

70.White-tailed Eagle dies from suspected poisoning. Denmark, April 2015

The dead animal was sent to the National Veterinary Institute for examination. Another poisoned sea eagle was found in the same region of South Jutland three years ago.

71.Sea eagles and wind turbines in the Weser valley. Germany, April 2015

According to NABU, a female White-tailed Eagle died in a windfarm near Lake Steinhude in 2008. Two more windfarms are in the planning stage in the region.

A dead White-tailed Eagle was found dead in early April in a region where another eagle died of carbofuran poisoning last year in March.

75.White-tailed Eagle nest in Dithmarschen abandoned. Germany, April 2015

According to the article, the parent birds left the nest probably because of human disturbance - both chicks are dead. They hatched some days ago.
