wow, what a noble bird, the golden eagle!
thank you for the pictures and the video!!
foxes and even RD seem to be very brave, just like last winter in the WTE feeding ground. they did not give way to WTEs there either, but tried to chase WTeagles away from food and most of the times WTEs gave way to them.
both of these eagle species can catch and kill RDs, foxes and even wolves. golden eagles are used to hunt wolves in Mongolia, Kazakhstan and elsewhere in Central Asia (e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Re644qgnCtw).
(btw: one young Kazakh lady is a champion in this sport: http://www.reuters.com/video/2012/03/08 ... =231446109)
but i don't think that eagles normally and readily try to kill these animals in nature because in such an effort the eagle itself might get seriously injured and get killed right away or later. that's probably why this eagle that visited karu-camera went away. - i used to be very worried about our cats when we were in the country where there were foxes, too. i was afraid that a fox would catch our cats. much later someone told me (or i read it somewhere) that foxes usually don't try do that because it would be too dangerous for the fox itself: a cat would tear the eyes out the fox's head or something like that.
it is also so good to seen healthy foxes and furries here.

I don't understand... foxes do not eat on this feed site. But control is the process of RD.
