Identified birds at Small Bird webcam.

Post by Jo UK »

This is to help us identify the birds we see at the Small Bird Feeder webcam. It helps if there is a picture as well as the bird name. Thanks.

According to wikipedia you are right! :D

Siisike seems to be the Siskin (Carduelis spinus)

The male has a (almost) white belly/backside. The female has an auburn belly/backside.

But that difference does not go for the subspecies (Sitta europaea ceasia) living in Central and Western Europe.

In typical cases it's so but there are great variations between birds. Usually it's impossible to distiguish sexes of the nutchatch in the field.
