Is that a woodpecker knocking or tits, trying to get seeds through the bottle?

Mr. Blackbird making his rounds:

He is very picky/choosy and empties half the bowl before he gets his particular favorite seed. Other birds waiting in queue.

Blackbird tries to eat, standing on one foot - is there really that cold that he keeps his legs in warm? 12 degrees isn't that much or what...

Today I managed to see hawfinch, too. This is really great to see birds this way and so close, as much as I don't have the feeder now for some years (bc of my cats, who tried to catch the birdies).

 great pictures, thank you all! :shake:
i just read on the front page that hawfinch is a rare bird in Estonia, too, (in Finland it's very rare)
hawfinches are difficult to observe anywhere in it's natural habitat (which is high in treetops + they are shy birds). here one of them has become a regular visitor.
last summer one pair of hawfinches visited the former white-tailed sea eagle/buzzard nest for about a week. it seemed that the female was collectecting nest material and the male was keeping company to her (i think that actually he was watching her not to have other fiancés. 8-) )
here you can have a look at them in their summer habitat: viewtopic.php?p=143948#p143948

Photographer is very near now... birds do not trust him...
*edit* of course it's the blackbird that comes first. Again emptying half the bowl to get his favorite white-colored seeds (oats?).

A female greenfinch. Not too polite, to say the least.

Yeah I think it's a marsh tit, could be a willow tit too as both can be spotted near the cam and are very alike, but in my opinion this is a marsh tit.

If they made sounds it would be clear at once who's who.
