January 5th
singing-bird fans,
first of all:
Thank you all for these nice pictures and presenting the names of the birds. I have a look on this thread every now and than.
For all German watchers (and of course people of other nationalities who are in Germany this weekend ), if someone is interested, I would like to inform about the bird counting campaign, called "hour of winterbirds", which runs this weekend in Germany, from today until Sunday, 5-7 Jan 2018.
Everybody can participate. The bird counting provides important data on winter birds, the effects of climate change and the state of the environment.
If someone wants to join, here are the links to the forms.
Only for the Bavarians:
https://www.lbv.de/mitmachen/stunde-der-wintervoegel/
and
http://www.stunde-der-wintervoegel.de/
and for all other states:
https://www.nabu.de/tiere-und-pflanzen/ ... index.html
Details on counting are explained at the links.
This bird census takes place twice a year, 1x in winter (January) and 1x in spring/summer (May).
Have a nice day, watching the winter birds on cam and outside
EDIT:
If the place for the post here is not correct, please let me know.
I'm a 'new' member and still learning the handling in the forum.
