good day. can we write to us at least once a day how are things in our beloved nest? I would rather listen to what is happening, but even so ... :(

Re: Estonian Osprey Nest (Ivo & Iiris) 2020
It would be nice. But if the wish concerns volunteers, it sounds like a harsh demand from us spectators ...
I appreciate and thank for all the info we get as it is.
I fully agree with Sunshine's opinion:

Without doubt, Urmas and Kotkaklubi have done all that was possible in the given circumstances in order to get the camera back online.
One can assume that any more serious intervention with the camera (like, changing the whole cable or even putting on a new camera) is a disturbance for the birds, and the right of this osprey family to have a peaceful nesting should have a priority over our eagerness to see them again.

In spite image of kalakotkas 2 cam is still foggy, I decided to make it public. Almost of activity is visible, somehow. We can hope for drying out the lens. There is problem in no distance between lens and front glass of additional protection cover. Moisture gets out from there slowly. Of course, rules of Murphy work here - most damaged is the middle of scene!

Let´s try to spot the ring letters!
It´s a challenge with the foggy view

Thank you, Urmas!
They are so big now. I love just looking at their patterned feathers - their pinecone camouflage.

Good Morning,
if someone would see my face right now, it just shines with joy. Finally we can see our two Ospreys, which have grown enormously in the meantime. Thank you to everyone involved, who made it possible for us.
synchronic cleaning on a beautiful day - and the baby feathers fly

Hello dear osprey fans!
Urmas, thank you so much for making it public and thank you, Bea, for the link.
Urmas, can you give any hint about the genders of UX and UW?
We have been longing to see "our" babies but they have grown so much that can't even recognize them
No rain promised so the system will dry up hopefully.

thank you all
I can hardly tell these two apart.
According to facial expressions, chick #1 - UX - male ? chick #2 - UW - female ?
10:45 UX - chick #1
11:33 UW - chick #2
chick #2 -> chick #1

UW is probably Junior with a bit lighter plumage than UX.
12:12 Ivo with #2 fish, one of the chicks grabbed it but Mom Iiris got it and began to feed. Couldn't see which one took it but Iiris lost the fish. They can cut the fish themselves!

Interesting little event .... UX claimed the fish, Iiris and UW make continuous looks on the fish, probably would like to have their share, too - but UX makes clear that this is an exclusive fish, confirms its opinion with a pecking against Iiris (who leaves the nest up to the cam support after this) and a very severe look at UW later

Bea, thank you for the video of the exclusive fish.
13:02 Iiris takes the leftover and starts to feed UW.
The "nebula" is getting smaller and smaller ....

Good afternoon all and special thanks to Urmas & Kotkaklubi for getting the stream back on
Wow, the kids really have grown ->
Just wondering... will they be named this year? Last year there was a poll based on the letters of the rings, but this year X and W are a bit tough to find Estonian names if I am right? All I have found while nosing around have been
KSENJA f Estonian (Rare)
Estonian form of XENIA.
and
WYTAMAS m Estonian (Rare, Archaic)
old estonian - victory man...
Of course could bend "the rules" and use W instead of V, but that won't solve the name starting with X. And since we have missed a bit of camera time, do we know much about the "personalities" of the chicks? So, just an idea - if naming the chicks, how about using Estonian names starting with "I" like their parents (and if I have understood correctly, "I"s are not used on the colour rings either)?
