5:20 dark and quiet on the nest -but wait, there is some sound of rolling thunder? or the wind.

nice picture, Cara, it is almost the same split second as the one I got, also viewtopic.php?p=171875#p171875

The fish chunks are quite large.
(I think Nori is female because she seems a bit bigger -now- and dominant. Initially I thought Uno was male because he flew quickly and he because he may be smaller, but now I don't know. I think Uno is like Spot -a female lesser spotted eagle -- a raptor who is eager to be out and about as soon as possible and that those traits may not be sex linked.)
Leaving so much fish is definitely a new behaviour.

Nori is here for a bite of one of them.
Dang I did not save the image of her arrival before I caught her departure -- with the fish.

Alice, I am "sure" that Nori is female (She grew fast after a slow start and now she is huge), and fairly "sure" that Uno is male (Only because he is smaller). I am not going to guess about Elo.

6:25 crash landing on the cam support, then Elo lands in the nest. S/he claims the other fish, and stands on it for a minute or two.
6:27 Elo flies off with the fish, calling as s/he goes.

Nori sings a different song as he approaches the nest bowl. ...a very happy chirp that is a different song than the usual screeching for daddy Madis:chick:

7:16 I can hear an osprey calling in the distance - it sounds like Nori to me.
7:40 Nori has been calling for several minutes (in the distance) - and now the cranes are calling too.

7:43 Elo lands on the nest
S/he looked around, called a few times, then flew off around the trees.

Here's his rear end.
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
