About Long eared owl migration. My friend said that there are records of Long eared owls which have ringed in our bird ringing station Pape and later found in Belgium, Germany and also in Netherland. But such records aren't many because much owls, especially young ones, dies during migration and don't reach wintering grounds.

ok, thank you and your friend for your reply.
Pity that especially the young do not survive, but it is nice to know.
I must say, I've never seen one with a ring, but I will have more to pay attention.

Yes, it sounds like Red deer. But about knocking sounds I don't know. I think it's not time for deer rut yet.Fleur wrote:21:36 - sound Deer ?

Fleur, as you are a nighttime observer here you don´t need light and sight - perhaps you can persuade them to leave the microphone there if they don´t want to let a camera run next season ...Fleur wrote:.....I just put here every time the messages, who knows, there is a webcam next season

Until about 6th minute there are only female calls. At the end of record it could be male. Sound however is rather strange, not pure as in typical song. I can't hear it clearly enough in my computer. And of course there are also dogs. They frequently are going crazy when hear owls voices.
