I will go with what Urmas says as he is the expert.
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Oh Yes Chimega, now I read the posts properly. (I was in a hurry yesterday :) ). So you ment the "meeting in africa" :). I have to admit that I have once posted "just for fun" (as alice44 said), the time when Piret flew back to Egypt from Sudan, that "maybe she went back to meet the rest of the family ". Maybe you remember that comment?! It was only my "deep wish" why I posted it :innocent:
Really sorry if I have confused your mind (if it was that comment)

Nilla, my sweet. No, it was not you. It was someone in a raptor forum that you don't belong to. I think the woman was confused. She said she watched it on "the documentary" called Osprey or at least that is the documentary I think she meant. She said it was 20 minutes long. I am fairly certain Osprey is way more than 20 minutes so she must have watched only a youtube video. Whatever she watched, I believe what she was seeing were Osprey in the southern part of the US, possibly Florida and that area of the US, on their nests, not after migration. I think she was totally confused as to what she was seeing. :whistling:

Hi all...

For all, who are interested in:

Yesterday I wrote to Urmas about the datas from Piret.
I was worry about the last sign was from 21.10.
In the evening an answer came:
-------------------
Hi Horst,
just today got some data about Piret. She was/is out of GSM network area and that seems to be problem for to show the locations. Border area between two Sudan countries... there are probably some other problems more important as GSM coverage.
Will update migration map in first possibility.

-------------------

I'm very happy about this answer, we see, that Piret is ok !!!
Urmas has already updated the map...
Many thanks to Urmas

Wish you all a great weekend
Horst

I'm only the messenger...
Thats all depends on Piret herself, likes she to be near human settlements or not. Probably safer is to be away and return safely back in spring time. The area, she is now, seems to be strange place in South Sudan. In Google maps there are visible several large scale fires on landscape...
Inserted whole November data to migration map about Piret, these were received only now. But still missing are 8 days of October, since 22nd.

Let's hope the soon data about Latvian Eriks, as well!

Ilzes transmitter has not moved up to 28th, so nobody has been there. But no newer data today.

Dear friends, I have good news! Webmaster has helped to create an order form for ordering prints. Right now we can already offer to collect orders, the Stephi collage you could already see and watch being painted. Sockes Mama is working on the osprey family right now, the finished paintings and some studies you can see at her homepage:

http://galerie65.blogspot.de/2012/12/fi ... -2012.html
Oilpainting Madis: http://galerie65.blogspot.de/2012/10/fi ... sprey.html
Oilpainting Piret: http://galerie65.blogspot.de/2012/07/se ... sturm.html

These are now the finished oil paintings - Sockes Mama will surely keep us updated about the rest of the family!

Right now we collect orders so we can place a bigger order with the printer to get a good price, which means the donation to Kotkaklubi is dependent on this price. If you have questions, about prices, postage etc., please ask us!

Hello my friends
so long again. As you can see, I'm still here and thoroughly enjoy the warm Africa. I Madis and my children are no longer seen, but you know that in birds is normal. In 5 weeks I start again with the return and it's early enough to get back to make kids think. :bounce:
I hope to meet Madis again and take you back naturally.
As you see in the picture, I'm in a good place and go there a few weeks of enjoyment.
Hold on my forum, only 2 months of waiting.
love, Piret

From newspaper EPL, Eesti Päevaleht, on Friday:
A young Estonian ringed osprey was found near Abeche in Tchad in the beginning of the year.
No, none of "ours".
The osprey is alive and well, however.

Since we have been discussing copyright I have politely mailed to the author, our favourite eagles-and-storks reporter Ulvar Käärt, and asked for permission to translate :innocent:
