Young osprey ringed in Estonia caught in faraway Tchad

This week the Estonian bird ringing centre in Matsalu received a surprising report from Tchad that an osprey, hatched last summer in Ida-Virumaa (East Viru county), had been caught there.
Kaarel Kaisel from the ringing centre explained that the information received at first was quite patchy, but amazingly Al-Hassana Idriss Abakar, whose brother had found the bird, replied very directly and clearly.
”It turned out that the bird had been caught in the first days of the year in the eastern part of the country, near the town of Abeche, and it was being fed fish,” Kaarel Kaisel said. ”The finder worried about how we were to get hold of the bird, because it was taking all their time and probably affected their purses too. When he heard our recommendation to set the bird free Al-Hassana was very happy.”
EDIT: Text following free part:
Kaarel Kaisel noted that from Central Africa very few reports come to the ringing centre, and mostly they are in French or even Arabian. ”So we appreciate the present finder even more, who apologized for his language command, but nonetheless exchanged e-mails in very serviceable English” he said and added that hopefully the young osprey is in good health and will manage the flight back to Estonia too.

I would like to know –
did something go wrong, actually, with the DNA-analysis of Nori, Uno and Elo?
As far as I know, we have no information yet.

I asked Madis and he said about Stephi that Urmas would have the information and he would let me know and that was over a month ago.Eden wrote:I would like to know –

I have also no information about DNA analyses.
Most probably that was not a priority of genetics, mean not analyzed, yet. They need to do these analyses besides of the everyday work, if the possibility appears. We can't demand anything.

OK - then we have to wait 3 years
and look then, who is the one with the eggs
is there no special population statistics, what shows the gender?

It seams that the camera of the nest occupied by Madis and Piret not properly work. How about the nest? We cannot observe them even they return to Estonia.

Piret and Madis don’t fly with supersonic speed
It will take 3-4 weeks before they arrive at the nest, time enough to install the cam.

Someone noticed that Piret is missing on the map?
I look at it, and yesterday she's near the Nildelta. Today her signal is off!?
Edit: Ah, okay. I found she. Hidden behind Erika

I have read in Looduskalender
(01.09.2009 - 09:08, Text: Ülo Väli):
“Erika and her partner brought up three young ospreys this year. This pair is one of the most successfully nesting ospreys in Estonia. Erika’s age is not known; it is possible that several birds have nested in this particular place: the nest has been known to us for 25 years.”
Are there any information whether Erika stayed together with her partner for several years, maybe the last year too?
I mean, is there anybody waiting for her now?
