It makes more sense to me that Madis should stay with the female who has proven to be a good mother, and also her successful return shows her strength. Oxanna really does not seem to know how to nest. She can eat his fishes though.

At 14:07 Madis was here with a fish head - looks as if Oxana (Miss Nuisance) would have liked to have a piece of it ... but didn´t get one, Madis left with it.

He is a bit of a lumberjack

Oxanna cries like a baby, does no nestoration and Madis brings another fish. Looks like he has adopted her. (Well except for the mating part ;-) )

That was Madis, he flew there and brought that huge branch.

He is not giving her the fish yet. Just holding it with his back to her. Mixed signals?

I can't help but hope so. Oxanna is wearing him down though with her baby crying.

The fact is that Piret disappeared from sight. What happened to her? :puzzled:
And it seems that, indeed, Madis accepted Oxana.

I'm not too happy with this turn of events.

Piret may be well scared off and decided to leave with her life. I am thinking that is better than being fatally wounded by Oxanna. I hope she can find another mate.

ETA the best outcome is both Oxanna and Piret breed. Surely there is a male near waiting for his mate who was lost in migration who would welcome Piret.

Piret's track machine maybe draged by the trunk of tree on the fighting.

So she can't move now.

Who can go there look for Piret, PLEASE!!!

I have to wonder why Piret doesn't swoop down on Oxana and similarly harass her in order to drive her off the nest?

And now Madis has returned and given Oxana the fish he previously withheld...

Piret successfully migrated with the backpack, it will not hinder her.

At Lucy:
Yeah, I think you may be right. It seems that not all ospreys have the same partner for life.
And Oxana ? First come, first served...
