This is the third camera-season for Irma & Ilmar´s nest.

Ilmar, the male, wears ring with letters AF

Irma, the female, has ring with letter/number U5
Both have metal rings on their right ankles, but designations are not readable in cam view



Last year two chicks were raised, Elar (DI) and Aino (AR)


Ospreys reach body heights of 50-66 cm, and wingspans of 1,27 - 1,74 m. Females are bigger than males.

- Winglength ♂ 448 bis 495 mm ♀ 470 bis 518 mm
- Weight ♂ 1,12 bis 1,74 kg ♀ 1,21 bis 2,05 kg

Usually two or three eggs are laid and incubated 36-41 days.
Young Ospreys fledge after 50-54 days.

Nest is located in South Estonia, not far from a fish farm. Natural river and ponds are in vicinity, too.

5:47 Good morning! Still no sign of Ilmar nor Irma. Wind is blowing the tree the nest is in back and forth.

April 12. 7:52. Good morning! While only a bird flew in to check the nest. Irma and Ilmar! We are waiting for you!

There is at least one bird on the dead tree.

08:09. Yes! And this bird with a white chest! lispet
8:11. They left each other.

9:00. Another bird sat on an old tree.
9:06. She flew off. This bird was like...greasy chicken.

9:06 They flew toward the nest, but passed it. Wishful thinking!

Transmission breaks all few moments - unfortunately.

12:26. It's some kind of white osprey....it's Hard to understand, because the wind and the thread is interrupted.

12:34. Osprey flew away. Perhaps it is migrating osprey. Flew to Finland...

There is a large bird (osprey?) sitting in the dead tree for about 20 minutes.

Bird flew away while I was typing

J3 black ring on left leg, silver ring on the right leg.
