Eifalia, sorry to hear about your cat. Losing a pet is always so hard and especially one that we've had as long as you had yours. They become family members and it hurts a lot when we lose them. (((((HUGS)))))
The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

This might take a while still. The sendered ospreys Kalle, Markus and Vadim are in their wintering
grounds still.
Only Markus has slightly moved 200 km direction nord along the Kongo river.

So far I know, even Irma or Ivo have an transmitter ... so let's see how fast one of them is back and to see on this nest.
The first Osprey on this nest to see, makes me happy ... what to think or feel if it's not Irma or Ivo.

Probably datas about our three tagged ospreys are not available daily - when they are in an area where GPS coverage is not the best ...
But these datas are not lost and when our ospreys arrive an area with better conditions all the stored datas are transmitted and with this batch of datas they are making quite a dash forward on migration map - with a suprise effect for us

As far as I know neither Irma nor Ivo carry a transmitter - not last season anyway.
I believe that ospreys are a monogamous couple for one season. But they are territorial and at least
one of them should return to the nest. So let's see who claims it.

Throughout the winter I regularly observed the whereabouts of our three ospreys.
Only Kalle is in an area without GPS. Markus and Vadim have flown quite a pattern.

Yes, Irma is the constant on the nest here and if nothing worse has happened I also expect her to return to this nest again.
Ilmar, the male here in 2013 and 2014, got a transmitter in August 2012 and was released from it in July 2013.
Datas from Kalle, Markus and Vadim are a quite good reference about when we can expect appearance of other male ospreys here on the place.

There was a bigish and whiteish/greyish bird in the top of the dead tree a while ago about 8:10 WebCam time, but I missed when it left so I didn´t see it fly, did anyone see it leave? What was it? It´s shape wasn´t that of an Osprey, was it perhaps a Tawny owl?

Pontu picture archives shows that the bird was in the dead tree from 07:56 to 08:09

Shape of the bird looks as if it could have been a woodpigeon, they were also here in previous years.

Whit that magnified picture one can find that the bird really was a woodpigeon.

The Woodpigeon is back in the dead tree, sitting there already since a while. Perhaps the dead tree is its usual spot for a little siesta
16:11
A shift change has happened .... woodpigeon away and a corvid in the dead tree now
