Good morning Liz and all together :hi:

yes, Eedi was first time in that area (only few days) in Dec. 2015 https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 05#p433005
They were less or more long pause without news also previous years, but already I am very eager about good news
We can (we always) only hope and (patiently) waiting.

NOVEMBER 05th

PL, Dab nest, hatched 2017: WOODEK-BIAŁY / WHITE is already in Chad
previous info (night 31.10./01.11.): viewtopic.php?p=620735#p620735

it is info also on FB BocianiMy https://bit.ly/2Pcnswy

GT: WHITE - choked to Chad! Once again, WHITE surprises us. For the reminder is a black stork with a white foot transmitter from central Poland from 2017. He spent the first winter in Nigeria marking the southern route. This autumn he flew completely differently, i.e. the "classic" eastern route. We thought he would land in Sudan, meanwhile ....? For now, he rocked Chad! The life of a stork is full of surprises

MARE: I am now not worried - she was quiet (2 long month) also previous year, when she moved from Sudan to his wintering area in Ethiopia

EEDI: so long time without new data is very unusually for him - he was long time in that area (Tendaha Dam), I hope he only moved to another area - without good GSM coverage

KARL: very probably moved to his (second) wintering area :puzzled: and we will have new data only in spring 2019

Excellent comparison, Solo!
I had forgotten that we have downloaded data from Mare`s transmitter and now can see where she had wandering while we knew nothing about her way.

:hi: Made,
- thank you ( )
- yes, it is so  (we can see the difference - map 1/: the last know and the newest localisation point are conjoined and map 2/: the factual path after downloading the data)

Your comparison of Karl's routes has calmed me down. But I'm really worried about "uncle" Eedi ...

:hi: Summi,
unfortunately, I'm not enough calm - I'm worried about both, more about Eedi  This waiting for new data is too long  I hope, that only the situation changed (food availability - Karl visited also new areas) and this year Karl flew already to south area without GSM coverage. But Eedi :puzzled: (he was almost since the beginning in new area ... )

Hi Solo, Made and all :hi:

I've noticed earlier that Eedi prefers a different area this year. I think, there is not enough food in hisoriginal main area,
or there is another reason why he is now looking for food further south. It may be that he has moved even more southern?
The purple squares on this map show black stork sightings.
I have at one point 3 views of 3 black storks by 3 different people. It is a dam. The Jazan Wadi Dam. Maybe Eedi is here now? :dunno:

I know it. Eedi was in 2015 in the area he is now. I wrote yes, maybe things have changed. It may be that this area is interesting again? The weather was totally abnormal worldwide this year. And it is still! We do not know how it looks locally. Maybe there is food in this area?

For me also it is interesting, in which places black storks were spotted. You see them in areas where I would never suspect them.
Anyway, I hope that Eedi has found a good place

:hi: Abigyl,
wintering 2016/2017 in that area was for one WS succesfully - it was year with much locust  . (2017/2018 and also now that WS is in usually wintering area - in Chad). And the data were more or less regularly. The Jizan region is good for storks (WS) if I remember correctly. I have infos only about 2 BS in that region (plus Kate), but who know where BS are in that area.

It is sooo long time waiting for new data from our stork  .
