Made wrote: October 17th, 2018, 5:42 pm Solo, maybe You or anybody else knows more about the "Black Stork Belarus (n=5)" project in Movebank? Planning 10 storks, only 5 are on map (3 from Belarus and 2 from Ukraina) and only 2 of them are on migration path. And very mysterious is the "leap" of stork No 5345 to the surroundings of Tallinn and back to Moldova... ...
thanx Made  I look up on that - interesting

Made, know you this maps?
HU male BS Zoltán: http://bit.do/eyQzu (his wintering area is in Central African Rep./without GSM)

Thanks, Solo! :2thumbsup: It would be fine to see all BS maps in one list.

I have seen the Polish map at Karl`s Family forum, but now I tried to search for something more about these projects and storks. And such a nice pdf file I found http://bocianimy.pl/wp-content/uploads/ ... ternet.pdf (maybe you know it).

Page 11 is about Anne7 story - look at the white path on the map
Anne7 wrote: October 17th, 2018, 4:34 pm 4. The itinerary via Italy and Sicilia, towards Tunisia. ???
...
I have no idea if route 4 has ever been observed...

yes, I know (and Anne7 too) - that is our Woodek (now BIAŁY / WHITE) :D, we have infos about him and shots also from nesting time (year before) here in LK "Black storks nest in Europe" - all infos from that stork (from FB bocianimy) i put this season here (also the map with his path back to Europe - summer) viewtopic.php?f=65&t=945&p=616551&hilit=Woodek#p616551 and here viewtopic.php?p=618071#p618071

Woodek flew from Italy and our little Päike from Greece - if flew away from Peloponnese: by Anne7 route 3. Crossing the Mediterranean Sea via Crete, towards Lybia

on bocianimy web I was long time ago - thank you for the pdf file

"It rains a lot in the rainy season but the water goes lost, in the region of the White Nile in Sudan.
A local solution to catch this water: Hafirs. An ancient technology since the Pharaohs times. We would like to develop these and build them where they are needed.
In the region, groundwater is too saline to be uses as a source of water and there are no pipelines connections to the Nile So there are only the Hafirs left and we want to help building then :-)"

I'm always thinking about the older BS

Just in case you need to know if Eedi is wet...

Here is a link to Saudi Rain Radar. Looks good to have for this coming winter: https://eldoradoweather.com/forecast/eu ... -radar.php

:hi: Abigyl,
time to time we also previous years haven't data (more by Karl, after he left to his second wintering area). I am still very impatiently waiting for new data (= confirmation that they are alive, O.K.).
Thank you for link

I use another one - here is also expected rain

No new data from Mare and not from Eedi either.

New main area this year by Eedi. It may be that things have changed this year.

There are many nice pictures from his wintering place :2thumbsup:
