Re: Black Stork Tracks
Ute L.: Even if you have not been able (whathever that means) to follow migration before, you certainly
must have read a lot in the 20 years of interest in Black Storks. 20 years is a long time, you ought to be an
expert by now and answer all sorts of questions, shouldn't you?

Nobody can answer this question exactly. The only way you could find out is to follow this topic every day. Though this year the weather conditions seem to be exceptionally difficult.UteL. wrote:Eedi 3903 km.... Will he wait? And will he come later? And Karl and....
Does anyone already know this situation? Is it better to ask here or where?

...
In fact, there is no difference in migration. They all have to take the migrationsroute. Black and White Storks!

Here to 2013!
viewtopic.php?f=65&t=411&start=820
Juta: 5.4.2013:
As it is visible on birdmap all birds with transmitters have turned back to south. As it has been extraordinary March in Europe and Estonia, birds´ behaviour is unusual too. Yesterday there was an interview on TV with longtime birdwatcher Peep Veedla. He said not seeing nothing like that. But he said also there is not reason to concern yet, birds do have enough time for nesting.
Everything will be fine

Solo I've found an interesting Link
you can find the link on the page from Max-Planck-Institut für Ornithologie
you can find the link on the page from Max-Planck-Institut für Ornithologie
http://www.bioinfo.mpg.de/flyways/...........On this website you can explore the influence of wind on the optimal migratory routes yourself depending on the start location and time as well as the flight height. The routes to destinations within a sector of 50° latitude are displayed. In case the shortest route between start and end point was the quickest route it is not displayed to maintain clarity

News from KARL
Hellem , I've seen it also just now. First I haven't trust my eyes that Karl is already in Turkey. This I haven't expected.
I'm very relieved that he has taken the right way. And is safe flown through Lebanon and Syria.
