Solo, thank you for daily updates. You and Hana do a great work :2thumbsup:

I hope we will see new data soon. I'm getting worried about Mare. It's a very long time without new data.

Hello everyone

POLAND

CNIG16
In Ethiopia since December 24th. He is still past the river, which is one of the tributaries of the Tekeze River.
Last three positions are less than 20 m apart. But one location is missing (15.1. 00:00). Perhaps he flew away to another place for the night. I'm a little worried about him, but hopefully everything is okay.

Hello everyone :hi:

I am serious worried about MARE - it is already a month after her usual "login" from Ethiopia after her "silent time"/out from GSM areas

EEDI send last data on Jan. 05 - 2 weeks ago

Good afternoon
POLAND
CNIG16
He flew about 30 km northwest to the river, where he spent the night. The next day he flew southeast and then up along the river to the place he knew.

:hi: Solo,
Mare may just be out of GSM coverage, but I'm starting to worry about Eedi. Two weeks is a long time for him. He reported more often, didn't he? :puzzled:

I am very much worried about MARE - she could be still out or device stopped working or :puzzled:

"Adults show a real fidelity to their wintering sites, as they do for their breeding sites. Black Storks show therefore a territorial behaviour in both areas to preserve their resources. The first and second years of their existence seem to be dedicated to the search of sites that meet all the necessary features without having to compete with other individuals. As a matter of fact, young and immature birds show more erratic behaviours on the wintering and breeding areas."
(source: Jadoul, G., Hourlay, F. & Toussaint, A.C. (2003) Suivi de la migration automnale de la Cigogne noire (Ciconia nigra) par télémétrie satellitaire. Aves 40, 155–164.)

EEDI had pauses also previous years -the longest 40 day (every year is a little another, this year he is not in valley - south from dam, but Eedi spend much time north from dam wall), but I like not the days without new data

Hana, thanx for update

Saudi Arabia A severe cold wave is approaching the Kingdom during the second half of this week:
Weather of Arabia - An extremely cold Siberian air mass rush is being monitored towards the Levant region and Iraq, then towards northern Saudi Arabia, starting on Tuesday. It will lead to a sharp and significant decrease in temperature and activity in the velocity of dust-causing winds in many regions of the Kingdom.
